A girl has been discovered useless in a parked automotive outdoors a police station and will have been contained in the automobile for days, police say.
A crucial incident has been declared after police made the grim discovery within the automotive park of the Lake Illawarra station, south of Wollongong, at about 4.30pm on Friday.
Paramedics attended however had been unable to revive the 48-year-old girl.
Early indications recommend the girl could have been within the automobile, parked on Pioneer Drive, since about 6.30pm on Tuesday, NSW Police stated in an announcement.
The girl is believed to be a member of the general public.
An investigation shall be carried out by a crucial incident investigation crew from the South Coast, to be reviewed by the Professional Standards Command and overseen by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
The crucial incident was declared because of the proximity of the scene to the police station. A report shall be ready for the coroner.
