Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with UN
Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo on
the sidelines of the eightieth session of the UN General Assembly in New
York and mentioned peace initiatives, Trend studies by way of Turkmen MFA.
The assembly targeted on Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the UN
system in sustaining peace and strengthening worldwide
safety. Special consideration was given to preventive diplomacy,
together with the actions of the UN Regional Center for Preventive
Diplomacy for Central Asia and the event of regional
cooperation mechanisms.
Meredov highlighted Turkmenistan’s initiatives geared toward constructing
mutual belief between states and advancing constructive
worldwide dialogue. Among them was the proclamation of 2025 as
the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this context, the
UNGA agenda now contains the merchandise “Neutrality for Peace and
Security” with draft resolutions on the function of neutrality in
sustaining peace and the institution of International Mediation
Day.
