Sophie Kinsella, who wrote the massively widespread Shopaholic e-book sequence, has died. The author, whose actual identify was Madeleine Sophie Wickham, was 55 years previous. Last 12 months, she introduced she had been recognized with an aggressive type of mind most cancers in 2022.
Her dying was introduced on Instagram on Wednesday: “Despite her sickness, which she bore with unimaginable braveness, Sophie counted herself actually blessed — to have such fantastic household and buddies, and to have had the extraordinary success of her writing profession. She took nothing without any consideration and was perpetually grateful for the love she obtained.”
Kinsella’s novels have been a sensation; they offered tens of hundreds of thousands of copies and have been translated into dozens of languages. The first two books within the Shopaholic sequence have been tailored into the 2009 film Confessions of a Shopaholic, starring Isla Fisher.
In an NPR interview from 2019, she stated her novels targeted on younger ladies and their travails, regardless that she was herself a mom with 5 kids.
