This comes as Ryanair launched its October ATC Delays League, displaying that France, Spain, Germany and the UK are the worst ATCs for delays/cancellations as a result of their governments fail to make sure their ATC providers are correctly staffed and managed.
“There isn’t any excuse for these worst ATC delays when Bulgaria, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark, are all delivering environment friendly ATC providers (with out mismanagement or employees shortages) and are chargeable for the fewest ATC delays/cancellations in Europe this 12 months.”
Ryanair and A4E have repeatedly referred to as for EU ATC reform, however Ursula von “Derlayed-Again” ignores these ATC delays/cancellations. Over 33m passengers have already suffered delays this 12 months. Ryanair calls on all EU passengers to go to the ‘Air Traffic Control Ruined Your Flight’ webpage and demand that Ursula von “Derlayed-Again” take pressing motion to reform the EU’s damaged ATC by (1) necessary that nationwide ATC providers are absolutely staffed for the primary wave of morning flights or face fines, and (2) the EU Comm should shield overflights throughout nationwide ATC strikes.
Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary mentioned: “It is inexcusable that Europe’s worst performing ATCs in France, Spain, Germany and the UK proceed to inflict avoidable delays and cancellations on hundreds of thousands of EU residents each month. Despite warnings, Europe’s ATC efficiency will not be bettering, as nationwide suppliers fail to correctly employees and handle their operations.
“EU ATC wants reform and its passengers who’re paying the value. ATC delays have already disrupted 33m residents to date this 12 months, with France, Spain, Germany and the UK persistently failing to employees and handle their providers correctly. Ursula von der Leyen has finished nothing to repair this ATC disaster and EU passengers deserve higher. It’s time the Commission took motion to finish this ATC chaos and shield EU passengers’ freedom of motion.”
