Tram community resumes service from 8 December.

Rome’s tram community returns to full operation, with some modifications, on Monday 8 December after a two-month closure to facilitate upkeep works.

For the previous two months Rome has changed the trams with free buses whereas highway infrastructure firm Anas carried out main works on the Tangenziale Est ring highway and town undertook numerous monitor renewal tasks.

However the return of the trams on Monday, a public vacation in Italy for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, won’t be utterly again to regular, no less than initially.

From 9-12 December tram traces 3 and eight will bear modifications, whereas line 14 will proceed to be partially changed by buses because of the Togliatti tramway building website.

Line 5: Regular service between Termini and Piazza dei Gerani.

Line 8: Evening service changed from 9-12 December because of the Celio building work. Starting 13 December, the usual prolonged timetable will return, with an extension till 03.00 on weekends.

Line 14: Shuttle service continues on the Togliatti line, with trams solely working between Termini and Largo Preneste. The 14NAV bus stays operational on the Preneste–Viale Palmiro Togliatti route, with stops on the suspended tram platforms.

Line 19: Line 19 maintains the Piazza dei Gerani–Valle Giulia route, whereas the connection between Valle Giulia and Viale Giulio Cesare is supplied by the 19NAV bus. The bus stops mirror the tram stops, with the addition of stops on Via Flaminia and Via Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa.
