Peachland wildfire: 325 on evacuation order, greater than 1,000 on evacuation alert


A wildfire burning close to Peachland compelled the evacuation of 325 properties on Thursday night.

The Munro Lake wildfire is burning uncontrolled and is presently about 70 hectares in measurement.

It is believed to be human-caused, in keeping with the BC Wildfire Service.

Ground crews, helicopters and construction safety personnel are all responding to the blaze.

The BC Wildfire Service says fireplace behaviour elevated on Thursday afternoon as a result of wind and dry situations.

More than 1,000 properties are on evacuation alert and residents have to be prepared to go away at a second’s discover.
