News Corp is staring down the barrel of an audit into allegedly underpaying workers courting again so far as a decade.
The union representing journalists, the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA), is trying into what might finish in a multi-million greenback invoice for News Corp if it’s discovered the media large hasn’t been correctly paying workers, as The Age first reported in late October.
The union’s suspicion relates primarily to unpaid extra time — News’ enterprise settlement requires that workers are owed double pay for added shifts when working greater than 5 shifts throughout a seven-day week.
