A person has been charged with homicide after a girl’s physique was discovered at a Hunter Valley residence on Friday night time following a suspected home violence incident.
Christopher McLoughney, 37, will face courtroom on Sunday after strike power detectives arrested him at a sporting membership carpark in Bellbird, west of Newcastle, about 6.45pm on Saturday. Police allege he was in possession of a sawn-off shotgun.

The alarm was raised after a baby walked 300 to 400 metres from a house on Ellalong Street in Kearsley, close to Cessnock, to flag down passing motorists on Friday night.
Police then discovered the physique of a 39-year-old lady with a gunshot wound once they attended the house about 7.30pm.
Nine News recognized the girl as Rhukaya Lake, McLoughney’s associate. The pair lived collectively and had been in an intimate relationship since June.

Hunter Valley Police District Commander Superintendent Steve Laksa described the demise as a “traumatic incident”.
