Lucy Powell has secured sufficient nominations from constituency Labour events (CLPs) to make it on to the poll for deputy chief, her marketing campaign stated.
Sources in Ms Powell’s marketing campaign stated they believed that they had secured greater than the required 33 nominations over Thursday and Friday evening, which means members will select between the Manchester Central MP and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.
Speaking to the Press Association on Friday evening, a supply stated: “We’ve had two very robust evenings of CLP nomination conferences, and it’s clear members are supporting Lucy’s message of hope that we will unify our coalition and the nation.
