On September twenty fourth, in the course of the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly, France, along with Reporters with out Borders (RSF), organized an occasion devoted to the state of affairs of journalists in Gaza. At the tip of this occasion, this assertion was endorsed by 21 nations.

We met along with representatives of civil society to debate the safety of journalists in Gaza and entry to data.

We pay tribute to the journalists killed and injured in Gaza whereas finishing up their work.

We reaffirm our dedication to the security of journalists and media professionals in Gaza and demand that their safety be ensured, in accordance with worldwide humanitarian regulation. We name on the Israeli authorities to permit journalists who want to depart the Gaza Strip to take action, and to authorize entry for impartial overseas media to Gaza.

We recall our dedication to the rules of press freedom and freedom of expression. Safe entry to data is crucial for journalists and media professionals to have the ability to do their work. A free and pluralistic press is critical for the functioning of democracy.
