Japan was hit by a robust earthquake of magnitude 6.5 on Wednesday, marking the third consecutive day the nation was hit by tremors, days after a 7.6 magnitude tremor triggered a tsunami warning.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) stated that the earthquake struck the Hokkaido area in Japan on Wednesday. The quake was at a depth of 57 km, EMSC stated. However, the Japanese scale recorded the earthquake at a magnitude of 5.9 with a depth of 30 km.
