TORREVIEJA — The UNED (National Distance Education University) in Torrevieja has reached a major milestone, reaching its first-ever “Full Capacity” score for its current course, “Life on the Banks of the Nile: Ancient Egypt.”
The lecture corridor on the International Conservatory of Torrevieja was packed each afternoon for the seven-session course, which ran from November 4 to November 26.
The Success Story: ‘The Nile Overflowed’
Jesucristo Riquelme, coordinator of UNED Torrevieja, likened the success to the flooding of the Nile, noting that the demand exceeded probably the most optimistic forecasts. He attributed the success to a number of key components:
- Exceptional Speaker: The lecturer, Santiago Mallebrera, was praised for his “dynamism, data of Egypt, and technique of transmitting” the subject material.
- Word-of-Mouth Promotion: The course attracted each ordinary college students and a big inflow of newcomers drawn by tales of pharaohs and pyramids.
- Good Weather: Favourable climate inspired the predominantly senior pupil physique to depart their properties for the afternoon lessons.
