The FCTC (Framework Convention on Tobacco Control) secretariat says that the week-long discussions resulted in choices on: tobacco management and the setting; rising assets for tobacco management; forward-looking tobacco management measures; and points referring to the legal responsibility of the tobacco trade for the injury it causes.
“These vital choices made by Parties to the Convention will contribute in direction of saving tens of millions of lives within the years to come back and defending the planet from the environmental harms of tobacco,” stated Acting Head of the Secretariat of the WHO FCTC Andrew Black.
