
A TEENAGE boy mauled by a canine is going through dropping his fingers after the hound’s chew left the digits “crushed to the bone.”
Kobie Pollard was simply 15 years previous when he was attacked by a Perro de Presa Canario whereas strolling to his grandma’s home in 2024.
As the teenager made his method alongside the road the Mastiff leapt over a backyard fence and went for the teen.
The vicious assault left Kobie’s hand mauled after he raised it to defend his face from the mutt’s jaws.
Latching onto the teen’s hand the terrifying canine tried to pull Kobie into a close-by backyard.
Before the ferocious assault may escalate Kobie managed to free himself from the mutt’s clutches and escaped.
His household instantly referred to as an ambulance and younger Kobie was rushed to hospital for remedy.
Mum Sarah Pollard mentioned: “His tendon was hanging out of his hand. The bone on his ring finger is totally crushed.
“He goes to the hospital almost each two weeks to see a hand specialist.”
Now 16, Kobie has undergone a number of surgical procedures in an try to avoid wasting his mauled hand.
One process closed the wound and the opposite put a wire into his knuckle in an try to avoid wasting the bone.
The wire put into Kobie’s hand has since been eliminated and the knuckle bone of the teen’s wounded digit has been left floating round.
Medical workers have given Kobie two choices, lose his finger in an amputation, or transplant a bone from his foot to avoid wasting the digit.
Sadly the teenager has been advised the transplant choice is unlikely.
Sarah mentioned: “It’s horrible. No mom ought to need to undergo what I’ve needed to see my son undergo.”
The mutt that attacked younger Kobie was destroyed.
Its proprietor, Jemma Hampton, was arrested and ordered to pay a nice at Kirklees Magistrates Court on May 12.
She was ordered to pay £1,400 to Kobie with £40 month-to-month instalments.
