Commission seeks enter on way forward for New European Bauhaus


On Friday, 19 September, the Commission launched a name for proof on tips on how to strengthen the New European Bauhaus (NEB). The purpose for the NEB is to allow native communities – that are more and more impacted by present challenges equivalent to local weather change and housing pressures – to steer the transition to a sustainable and inclusive future. On the premise of suggestions obtained, the Commission plans to undertake a Communication and a proposal for a Council Recommendation in December 2025.

Launched by President von der Leyen in 2020, the NEB goals to co-create buildings, public areas, and neighbourhoods that are stunning, sustainable, and inclusive; and to convey individuals collectively, within the spirit of creation and neighborhood.  Five years later, the NEB has grown right into a vibrant motion, supported by a robust neighborhood of over 1,900 organisations, which incorporates architects, designers, researchers, native communities and residents. The EU invested 740 million euro in virtually 700 tasks throughout Europe and past, together with for the reconstruction of Ukraine. In addition, the NEB Facility 2025-2027 offers a stable monetary basis for the years forward to revitalise neighbourhoods by means of participatory design and co-creation.
