The US has seized an oil tanker allegedly transporting oil from Venezuela and Iran, Attorney General Pam Bondi introduced.
The motion came about amid a buildup of US navy exercise within the area and strikes in opposition to what Washington described as cartel boats.
“Today, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the United States Coast Guard, with assist from the Department of War, executed a seizure warrant for a crude oil tanker used to move sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran,” Bondi wrote on X on Wednesday.
Bondi mentioned that the vessel had been sanctioned “on account of its involvement in a bootleg oil delivery community supporting international terrorist organizations.”
The video posted by Bondi reveals closely armed legislation enforcement officers descending onto the ship from a helicopter.
