Queensland’s prime cop has been taken to the Industrial Relations Commission over claims a police union was not correctly consulted on the creation of a brand new senior job in his workplace.
The Queensland Police Commissioned Officers’ Union lodged its criticism towards Commissioner Steve Gollschewski with the QIRC on December 8.
The dispute is centred on the creation of a brand new chief superintendent position. The union argues it was not consulted successfully, as required beneath its industrial settlement.

“In current instances, we as a union of the commissioned officers have grow to be involved with how positions are being created, why they’re being created,” union president Kerry Johnson stated in a press release by way of lawyer Calvin Gnech.
